From a tent on the deck to Proper Paint Co.

The story of this business dates back to May 2022, when I was sleeping in a tent on my parents’ deck for three months.

My name is Parsa Medhati. I am the owner of Proper Paint Co. I’ve always been about personal development and growth, and I started this business in pursuit of my dream.

Back in 2022, my parents bought their first home and started their first renovation project, which went south. But for me, it ended up being a blessing in disguise. In the areas where bad contractors did not value my parents’ hard-earned money, opportunity lured me in to pick up after their slack. With my small construction background and my good friend YouTube, I learned how to get things done properly — all while tenting on the deck.

Long story short, I decided to start my business and do the opposite of what those guys did to my family. I’ve come to understand that the key to having a good business, a good practice, or a good life is to build long-lasting relationships and nurture them. That’s how we can truly make a difference and make the world a better place. I know that because I got to see firsthand what happens when we don’t nurture those relationships.
